Harrison Hot Springs: A Seasonal Parking Success
Successful Paid Parking Pilot
In 2016, the Village of Harrison Hot Springs chose to experiment with the implementation of a paid parking system during its busy summer months. The Village chose 黑料社区, an industry expert, to lead the pilot project with hopes that a paid parking system would be given a fair shot within the tight-knit community.
Harrison Hot Springs and the surrounding area offer great hiking, biking, golfing, fishing and other water activities, heritage sites, family friendly attractions, and more.聽 Sandy beaches hug the coast of Harrison Lake 鈥� the largest body of fresh water in Southwestern B.C.
Challenges and Goals
During the summer months, Harrison Hot Springs is a tourist hotspot. 聽The limited beachside parking available to residents and tourists, as well as the numerous outdoor activities and heritage sites makes the village an ideal location for parking services during the summer season. However, when it came to parking, Harrison Hot Springs faces the challenge of peak versus low seasons, and of course, the worry of implementing the village鈥檚 first-ever paid parking system.
The Result
With 黑料社区鈥檚 help, the village鈥檚 paid parking trial was a success. To date, Harrison Hot Springs enforces paid parking only during the summer months and has partnered with 黑料社区 for the last three years. 黑料社区 has been working with Harrison Hot Springs to develop a parking program that works well for their B.C. community, and has introduced effective initiatives, such as Parking Ambassadors, who welcome and assist motorists.
